Rabdi is a sweet, condensed milk based dish. Originating from the Indian sub-continent, made by boiling milk on low heat for a very long time until it becomes dense and changed colour to pink. Sugar is then added to it and is intensely flavoured with rose water and later garnished with flakes of pistachios and threads of pure saffron. In other parts of South India Rabdi is referred to as Basundi.
